Kenilworth Rotary Handover 2003:

President for 2002-3, Rotarian Bernard Beadle gives his valedictory address at the end of his year of office.

... with incoming president (Saint) Philip listening attentively).

Immediate Past President Bernard hands over the chain of office to incoming president Philip Southwell.

Bernard smiles ... but is the new President doing his job with his eyes open?

The President’s first duty is to invest his wife Joy with the regalia of the President’s Lady.

... and then to consign Bernard Beadle to the rank of Immediate Past President.

Rotarian Zig Layton-Henry is invested as Vice President (and President Elect).

Rotarian Colin Sallis is appointed as Sargeant at Arms.

... a post which he takes up with serious purpose, fining members for the sartorial inelegance of not wearing ties.

... and using his powers to raise funds for the club’s activities.

President Philip declares his main charities for the year and commits the club to working together not only through fund-raising, but through the 3 F’s ... Fellowship and Fun, ... and more Fun.

The meeting closes with his first photo-call to celebrate his appointment as President of the Rotary Club of Kenilworth.
