Bringing Hope & Opportunity to Children in South India and Thailand

On a misty Saturday morning, in true Indian style, a motor scooter made its way from Peterborough to St Francis Centre in Kenilworth. The rider was Jon Crouch, Charity manager for the Joe Homan Charity on his way to the organisation’s AGM in Kenilworth. Over 60 supporters from as far afield as Cumbria, Bristol and Southampton attended to hear about how the charity had given hope and education to over 3,000 children in Tamil Nadu in India and Thailand. Joe Homan himself attended and said that there was no greater role given to a human being on this planet than bringing up and educating children. The audience also heard from three UK students, who had driven a motorised rickshaw with 14 other teams from around the world for 1,000 km in Southern India, raising over £1,700 for Madurai Sevashram Girls Home. The charity itself raised over £360k last year

The funds are raised for projects offering relief from poverty for boys and girls with a strong emphasis on education in Boys Towns and Children’s Villages. The charity is always looking for help with fundraising. More details about their excellent work can be seen on their website www.joehoman.org.uk or contact Rotary Club of Kenilworth, who have provided regular long-term support through their International fund.
