Rotarians Passing to higher service
This page commemorates those members of the Rotary Club of Kenilworth who passed on since the turn of the Millenium while continuing to serve Rotary. Each entry has a longer salutation accessed by clicking on the Rotarian's name or picture.
Past President Tom Roberts (April 6th 1916 January 8th 2010) was the last surviving founder member who remained in the club for nearly fifty years. He was a successful local businessman making machines to press out letters on metal strips, swimming pools and converting lorries to tankers to transport water. He was President in 1967-8 and awarded a Paul Harris Fellowship in 1996. | |
Past President Bernard Beadle (June 4th 1923 December 10th 2008) joined Kenilworth Rotary in 1975, had a period away from the club when he took retirement from his position as Headmaster of Clinton School, and returned in 2000 to become Secretary (2001-2, 2003-8) and President (2002-3), He was awarded a Paul Harris Fellowship in 2004. | |
Past-President Derek Topham (28th February 1929 28th July 2005) served Rotary for 30 years at Kenilworth (1975-1982) including Treasurer, and President (1981-1982). He was transferred as Bank Manager for Lloyds Bank in Stourbridge where he served with the Rotary Club of Stourbridge before retiring back in Kenilworth. He was awarded a Paul Harris Fellowship for his work for Rotary. | |
Rupert Davis (November 22nd 1912 October 2002) served Kenilworth Rotary for 33 years including long service as Secretary, organiser of the annual Art Exhibition and as a founder member of the Kenilworth Probus Club. He was awarded a Paul Harris Fellowship. |
