The 2002 Two Castles Run on Sunday 9th June was the biggest and best yet. A record 799 runners completed the course with a maximum total specified at 800. £6000 was raised for local charities, including Sargent Cancer Care for Children, the local Community Drug Team.

First lady home was Joanna Dagnan, who is still a junior, in a time of 38' 54". She came in a full minute and a half in front of the next female competitor, Isobel Partridge, who was first in the senior ladies category in 40' 20".

Registrations on Wednesday May 29th reached 814. All whose applications were in the post by midnight on May 29th will be registered. Registration after this point is closed. We anticipate a full field of 800 runners and we regret that there will be no places available for registration on the day.

Laing-Homes re-affirm their continuing sponsorship of the Two Castles Run.

If you have registered but are unable to run, please let us know by e-mailing us. No refund is available, however, this will enable us to anticipate the total number running.

The Two Castles Run in 2002 is on Sunday June 9th starting at 9.30 am from Warwick Castle to Kenilworth Castle over a distance of 10 kms. The Race will be started by the Mayor of Warwick and the prizes awarded by the Mayor of Kenilworth.

Route: 10 kilometres from Warwick Castle, via St Nicolas Church St, Coventry Rd, Leek Wootton Roundabout, Warwick Rd (Leek Wootton), Woodcote Lane, Rouncil Lane (Keliworth), Mortimore Rd, Dudley Rd, Beauchamo Rd, Oaks Rd, Rounds Hill, John O'Gaunt Rd, Fishponds Rd, Brookside Avenue, Castle Rd, finishing at the Brays Car Park, Keniworth Castle.

Trophies are awarded to the first three in each of the following categories. The date for determining the age is September 1st 2001, to coincide with the UK Athletics rules for determining official age ranges.

Male and Female (any age)
Veterans Male (50+) and Female (45+) [on Sept 1st 2001]
Veterans Male (40+) and Female (35+) [on Sept 1st 2001]
Juniors Male and Female, 15+ (on the day) and under 20 on Sept 1st 2001.

In making your plans for the run, please note that parking is not available in Warwick Castle. You will receive suggestions as to where to park when we send you your race number and further information for the arrangements on the morning. We will transport your personal belongings from the start to the finish. It will be of assistance to us for you to indicate this on the entry form (below) so that we may make appropriate arrangements.

Runners should plan to arrive for 9.00 am to warm up and prepare themselves for the Run.
